HUMMEL
The foundations of Hummel AG were laid in 1948 when Anton Hummel created the "Anton Hummel Mettalwarenfabrik" company in order to create turned metal parts for use in everyday items such as locks, cigarette lighters, kitchen machinery etc.
The company grew rapidly and the turnover reached 1 million Marks in 1958.
The company began manufacturing plastic components in 1972 and invested in automated machinery and glavanics.
In 1971 Hummel patented a new type of packing gland connection. This innovation enabled the company to expand fruther and new facilities were built to house the rapid expansion.
M23 round plug production was started 1999 and by the turn of the century subsiduries and sales offices had been opened in China, Brazil, Italy, UK, and India were being opened. Later offices in France, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Sweden and Austria joined them.
Hummel is still a family run company, is an internationally renowned connector manufacturer and directly employs over 600 people worldwide.
